 HOW DOES PLASMA ENERGY WORK?
There are 3 commonly known states of matter; solid, liquid and gas. Plasma is the 4th state of matter.

Plasma comprises of an ionised gas charged with equal amounts of negative and positive charged electrons.

The treatment consists of the use of a special device which omits a precise beam of plasma energy. The Plasma energy evaporates any liquid at the point of contact to the superficial epidermis layer of the skin. This separates the blood supply to the lesion, without causing any damage to the underlying or adjacent tissues. The lesion then starts falling away after about a week.

After treatment, the fibroblasts in the skin are stimulated to create new collagen and elastin to the area.

SKINTAGS
Skin tags are made up of loose fibrous tissue and hang from the surface of the skin. Skin tags vary in size and shape from a grain of rice to a pea. They are commonly found on areas of friction such as the neck, under arms, top of the thighs and bra line.

What causes the skin tags?
Commonly found near bra or collar line area, mainly caused by friction, sun damage and in some people they are inherited

How is skin tag treated with the Plasma pen?
Skin tags are sliced off with the plasma energy in seconds, no pain, no bleeding and no damage to the skin or tissue.

The Plasma pen evaporates the neck of the tag, which cuts off the blood supply to the skintag.

The skin tag can only be sliced off with Plasma if it is hanging, the flatter ones are treated and left to shrink, get darker and fall off within approx 5 days.

MILIA
Milia are raised, under the skin, clear or white spots or clusters that look like whiteheads. They typically appear on the nose, eyes and cheeks and can occur in people of all ethnicities or ages. Milia cannot be squeezed like blackheads or pus filled spots as they are not in a skin pore and layers of dead skin are trapping it.

What are the main causes of Milia?
Milia occur when keratin becomes trapped beneath the surface of the skin. Keratin is a strong protein that is typically found in skin tissues, hair and nail cells. Milia can be hereditary, but can also occur as a result of skin damage such as sun damage, long term use of steroid creams, the use of products which are high in mineral oil, heavy moisturisers, high dairy consumption and a build up of dead skin cells. Milia around the eyes only, are usually caused by a dairy intolerance or eye products that are oil heavy.

What you should do to avoid having the Milia?
Stop using products high in mineral oil, lanolin, and heavy moisturisers, keep the skin oil free, use salicylic acid based products, and  exfoliate the skin regularly.

How is Milia treated with plasma?
Removing Milia by the normal extraction method leaves the skin damaged, torn, bleeding and open to infection.
Removing Milia with plasma will cauterise the area, preventing any bleeding. Only a few days healing period is required.
